Default Possible BCM issue

Hi There, I believe I might be having an issue with my BCM and would like some opinions.

I have a 2015 f150 lariat and lately I have been having issues with random warning lights and issues doors, windows etc. It initially started with random warning lights for traction control and abs sensors and then the tailgate wouldn't open and then the drivers window would only open half an inch for a few days. The window works fine now but i am still getting warning lights that come and go. The tailgate would open with the Key fob button but not the button on the tailgate. Thinking the tailgate with keyless entry was a separate problem i replaced the button and the actuator which has not worked. I am now starting to think that it is the bcm.... thoughts?

You will not be able to perform any security function on any 2015 or newer F150's without a NASTF license (you must be a business and go through background checks, have proper insurance, and pay lots of money).

After the BCM is programmed you must perform the security function...
- parameter reset
- program 2 keys - NEEDS 2 KEYS
- CEI Configuration
- reset door code (if applicable)

2015+ F150 - USED BCM WILL NOT WORK...unless you clone the eeprom.

FJDS works best on a windows 10 pro device.
You cant use a used BCM even with dealer programing?

<p>To answer Staggerlee - correct, a used BCM will not work through normal programming channels on 2015+ trucks. Ford locked down the security functions after the keyless entry theft issues around that generation. Through FJDS the dealer/tech reads the existing module data and writes it to the new blank - a used BCM already has someone else's security data burned in, and the PMI function will not overwrite that. The EEPROM clone route can work but that is a specialist job.</p><p>For 2015F150MT - the symptoms you are describing (ABS/traction warnings coming and going, doors, windows, random gremlins) honestly sounds more like a ground issue than a BCM failure. The BCM grounds on that generation are notorious. There are a few main ground points under the dash and near the footwell - corrosion there causes exactly that pattern of random multi-system faults. Before going down the BCM replacement road I would pull all your BCM ground connectors, clean the terminals, and hit the ground studs with a wire wheel. It is a 2 hour job and it fixes this exact symptom set a surprising amount of the time. The water intrusion issue GST97 had in this thread is also worth ruling out first if you are seeing similar random failures.</p>

I installed a USED BCM in my 2019 F150. Original one was damaged due to a bad windshield install(f*cker). I found the same part number and installed it. Then with Forscan I wrote all the as-build data. Next step, my existing keys needed to be programmed to the new BCM but Forscan could not do that at the time(Apr 2021). So I borrowed an Autel IM608 and was able to erase all keys, add back my keys . Final step, parameter reset, the truck started just fine. Of course, I now had a new factory code for my keyless entry pad(it's printed on the BCM right next to the part number)

I looked up the price of that Autel.....I should not have done that.
