I can buy that, because many times when this happens it is quite warm here in North Texas.

I have a feeling there is an expensive fix here that Ford is avoiding ...

The processor should be within the APIM or sync screen... most likely the APIM. If it's bad, it won't throw a code, nor can a dealer easily test for it, but if someone has a working APIM they'd let you borrow for a bit, I would put money down that your problem goes away.

Mine just did this today....first time I have seen this happen on my 2016 Lariat. Worked fine when I started the truck and left the office, but when I got home and backed into the garage it showed nothing but vertical lines. The backup camera on my Tacoma used to randomly do this as well, but it always went back to working normally after I parked it for a few hours....hopefully my F150 does the same thing.

My saga continues. The truck has been with the dealer since last Wednesday morning. Stopped by yesterday to check in as I hadn't heard from them in almost a week.

They are replacing the APIM module and some "camera parts". The service manager was pretty cagey about it but I'll post more details when I get the paperwork when I pick the truck up. They are also replacing my panoramic sunroof glass as it started leaking after they replaced the sunroof frame the last time it was in and then started leaking.

They are throwing parts at the problems at this point. I hope it fixes the issues. More to follow and Happy Fourth of July!!!

Default New to the forum but maybe found fix.

I have also been having the backup camera problem with the lines since 5,000 miles. I now have almost 50,000 and my truck has been “fixed” about 6 times. My truck is now in the shop for almost 2 weeks (this time) was able to get the regional customer service rep involved and the problem is supposed to be fixed as of now. I am going to leave my truck with them till Monday for more testing but as soon as I get it if it’s fixed I will share any info I receive.

I'm underwhelmed by the quality of the cameras, assuming that mine is as bad as everyone else's and nothing is wrong.

My truck's camera 10 years ago was just as clear, and virtually every other vehicle I've been in makes our camera look like an old school VHS recording.

my truck was in the shop for a day this week and they were able to finally diagnose that the issue is the main cpu whatever....they ordered one but said it could be a few weeks, guess they are backordered. Says it will take about 3 hours and that pain in the *** recalibration process to fix it once the part comes in.
