Automatic headlight issues alpharex
Well.........
The kit did resolve the issue with the short blink animation on the outer LED highlight of the headlight.... But sadly the ground fault DTC has moved to the turn signal position light, where the kit moves the wire.... So something is up with the headlight, maybe....
What I have observed is this problem with the ground fault detected only occurs when the headlights are in "auto" mode. Which makes me wonder if the "auto" mode has different tolerances for fault detection than the other modes on the headlight switch? I need to understand how the fault detection works in the BdyCM, is it just a voltage monitor or is there a shunt or coil for monitoring current draw? Either way, I'm pissed, I'm going to pull the headlights and do a bench test to try and figure out what the difference is between the "misbehaving" one and the "working" one. Out come the oscilloscope and load testers....

Ive had this issue with mine too,
its not a DRL issue, mine is a canadian truck, I disabled that long long ago prior to the Alpha’s
only time Ive had this issue was when it was extremely cold, the outer ring wouldn’t turn on on the passenger side and then the following time it will be the driver side, lately its been the driverside with this hickup that does this. Mine is set on auto and i do the remote start with the phone.
i turn the **** to off then back on to auto and its fine. Leads me to believe that its a truck issue, Ive gone in with Forscan and cleared the headlight code and all seems to work for a good long while.
could it be the headlight assembly… maybe … the original headlights I had didnt have small computers, they were halogens but they also didnt have the outer ring lighting.
i still love em. If anything I wish they offered more options to add in upgrades.
oh and i got mine from a private seller so no warranty transfers.
