Added my tailgate release last night in about an hour. 5$ for a switch. I have the electric parking bake so added the momentary switch above the light switch. Thanks to i8iridium for posting the BCM C2280B pin 1 info.
That looks great! Does it only work when you are in park like a normal trunk?
It works just like the fob. Drops the tailgate even while in gear as long as vehicle is not in motion. If tailgate is locked (i.e. can’t open by pressing button on tailgate or no fob present) can still open by pressing button in cab.
now I just need a resistor and to find the lighting circuit to get the 3v light in the switch to work but that is for another time.
I just got done checking this out and everything I8iridium posted is correct. I inserted a bare stranded wire into pin #1 of C2280B located as described in his post. Once the wire was inserted, I reinstalled the connector and then took the opposite end the wire and grounded it to a grounding stud - the tailgate opened!
I can now install a momentary "ON" switch and mount somewhere on the Drivers side of the Truck. I would like to add the switch that Airborne_Ape identified. The problem is how to mount the switch next to the pedals switch. Any ideas. I have the gray plastic interior.
Did you end up using the Raptor Kit with the relay and adding an OEM tailgate switch from the F250? If so, did you run a wire from your switch to the wire on the relay designated for the upfitter? If so what pin location did you run the wire from? Did you run 12V to the switch to enable the backlight function? Did you run a ground wire from the switch in addition to the ground wire that is on the relay from the Raptor kit?
