This is the Molex connector in the F250 that connects to the tailgate release switch. You can see the colors of wires used and the locations on the pins.
On my 2016 with NO TAIL GATE SWITCH, I popped back my panel, and I found a spare plug plugged into a plastic blank on the back of the panel next to my foot pedals switch. It's different than the one on the 250.
Does anyone know what this plug is for??? 2016 F150 Limited?

Yes it should be for the for E park brake switch. They are installed on all the dash wiring harnesses that I have seen even if your F150 does not have the Electric park brake

Ah, ok. Crazy that they put those in all the harnesses before they came out with that switch. My 2016 Limited has the Manual pedal. It wasn't until 2018 that they added the E-Brake switch, right?

Starting with 15 model year. There are F150s running around with electric park brake, but they didn’t make as many of them. It’s connector C2015
I didn't see the utility of adding this switch on the dash. On a side note, when I was configuring the door entry keypad when I bought the truck, I discovered (by accident), that when you unlock my 2015 Lariat with the keypad, if you then immediately press 5-6, it opens the tailgate. The first time I did it, it slammed down. I installed the damper on my tailgate, so now it just goes down nice and smooth. I used it to open my tailgate after unlocking the truck -- with my keys in the house...

My understanding is the electronic E-Brake switch is a standard feature starting in 2015 but owners with the max payload packages have a manual e-brake pedal. My 2017 lariat has that insane GCWR of 17,100 lbs and has the manual e-brake pedal.
I went and did some research at the Ford Dealership today. I checked out a new 2017 Super Duty. Dimensionally the panels are the same, but the Super Duty panels have the cut out for the Emergency Brake Release Handle.
The square around the pedals or pedals and tail gate switch does not come out. It's molded into the entire panel under the steering wheel. It just looks seperate, but on the back, there is no removing it without cutting the plastic with a dremmel or rasor.
2016 F150 Limited
2017 F250 Platinum (All F250s seem to have the E Brake Release Handle there.)
Naturally it doesn't pop out.. That would just be too easy. I should just Velcro my second fob to the dash.
