Auto tailgate button and heated wheel button
I found the panels that have an opening for both the tail gate release and the adjustable pedals. NOTE: This is the full lower panel for F250 / F350...

I agree, I wish there was a panel for both the pedals controls and tailgate open button. I would also like to wire up a switch on the tailgate and make the necessary forscan changes so the tailgate agar warning works.
Not yet I just got the push button in the mail yesterday , looking for the plug connector to connect to it and so I can make up a wire harness from it. Also need to see where is the best place to tap into the 14405 wire harness. I have a 15 wire dia shop manual , if someone out their has a 17 250 shop manual can look up and send the wire dia for the switch that would be helpful, I like to see where, how they tied it in on the circuit.
Feel free to post a photo of the back of the switch. May also be able to order from Digi-key and build your own plug for much cheaper. This is the WPT-1125 pigtail plug for the upfitter relay box. I think part numbers can be read on the Ford pigtails and then ordered from Digi-key for much cheaper. https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...161-ND/4143699
Here is a link to a catalog of all the ford pigtails and part numbers. This might help: http://dadistributing.com/wp/wp-cont...ectronic-1.pdf

I sort of put a hold on this, but I do have the switch and BCM terminals. Time is holding me back. I disagree with the theory on where you guys think the Hex address is in the BCM which needs to be modified. I think that unlock / release value you refer to is the difference between tailgate handle types XLs have a manual handle. I think you should start with 726-46-01 xxxx xxxx x*.
There will be a few things to try. If you get around to it first I would compare these As Built addresses between 2017 F150s and 2017 Super Duties to try and isolate what you need to set or experiment with.
Just because something is not labeled as a tailgate does not mean it wont have an affect. Keep in mind Livnitup filled in a lot of his document by referencing alternative data from markets where F150s dont exist.
The pins inside the switch HC3Z-54432A38-AA are not labeled as you would expect them to be on any other Ford switch. There are 6 pins. Im guessing pin 1 is in the bottom left because there is a tiny 3 marked in the lower right.
These notes are here for myself, they are things I will need to compare on a Super Duty. Feel free to compare them as well, because Im in no rush and might even forget about this whole topic again.

I already proved this is Tailgate Ajar on 2017s it is listed as door #6 ajar on the excel doc.
726-67-02 x*xx xxxx xx =
Door 6 present. This in conjunction with the above address enables tailgate ajar on 2017 BCM firmware (Install pin # 36 on the blue plug on the BCM).
726-68-02 x*xx xxxx xx
Fleet unlock type.
BCM terminal pin for a tailgate release and tailgate ajar switch should both be this but I could be wrong.

They are sold as bags containing 6 pre crimped pins.

I also have this switch for the cab, it work just like the switch that is on the tailgate of the Lariat an above with the automatic drop tailgate that you can drop with your fob on Lariat and above . Note guys the actuator is different on an XLT tailgate compared to the actuator on lariat and above tailgate this only works with. Sorry XL and XLT unless you have modified. No BCM code changes are needed for Lariat and above , just wire into tailgate release circuit on one and take to ground on the other. It just a momentary switch just like the tailgate button on the tailgate. What it does is take the BCM to ground on the button. Then the BCM will release the tailgate on the tailgate release actuator circuit.
