Good info, will be interesting to see if someone knows the answer!!

Default bypass shutdown after idling

After driving around then stopping or on a jobsite idling my truck after about 10-15mins either shuts off or tells me engine will shut off in 30 secs. If your in the truck you can press ok to bypass it. This has happened since i bought it at least 20 times... Today i was driving around with my lights in the parking mode - one over from off. I have been sitting here waiting on my crew to arrive for atleast 53mins. The truck has NOT propmted me that it will shut down in 30 seconds or shut off while i went to look at site for at least 25 mins. So to the OP, atleast one trick i have figured out so far is to leave your parking lights on...and your truck wont auto shutdown

Wow, that is truly impressive! You need to change your handle to McGiver!

Thanks

Lol..thanks. it was driving me nuts. I was always having to either override the notification or restart my truck. It was trial and error. I never expected it. I was just cruising to site and love the orange running lights shape outlining the light, it was getting close to dusk so i rotated the switch over to them...when i was on site i noticed my truck hadnt turned off when i got back to it. Then i sat there for atleast an hour straight and no notification it would shut off. So i was happy about that...and it looks cool as well. Win win

That is really a funny, I just never would have played with that. Another thing is they shut off when you have it on auto during the day, so the lights aren't even on. It does make some sense since they call them parking lights. Lol

Great find thanks again

I guess when on the auto selection they mean more than just the lights huh! I wonder if it will stay cranked in any other light selection other than auto??

Two questions:

1. The times that you left and came back to a truck that had shut off, did you take the fob with you or did you leave it in the truck?

2. When you left and came back to a running truck, did you have the fob with you or did you leave it in the truck?

Key Fob was always in my pocket. May have been in my console one of the 20 times it shut down on its own. But either way, truck would turn off on its own after atleast 10-15 idle period. This is an idle period from pulling up to site from driving. This is not a keyfob start and then it turn off, from an autostart default. If you havent idled your truck say pulling up to grocery store waiting on the wife and gotten the engine will turn off in 30sec notification you will.
2. I never came back to it running. It was always off, till yesterday with parking lights on.

I just timed it while on site again. KeyFob in the Consloe. Doors unlocked. Heat on. Seat heat on. 27mins and it shut off. Lights in auto mode. After shut off doors still unlocked.
