Can somebody explain to me what difference it makes if they come on when they're not needed? I understand that if they're not coming on early enough it would be a problem.

I just checked my Asbuilt with intentions of changing this setting.

It shows 726-26-01 xxx2 xxxx xxxx

Should it not be preset with a 0 or a 1 or are the 0 and the 1 the alternative settings to the preset which could be 2? By looking at your post I was assuming the 0 or the 1 were the preset.

Don't want to mess something up.

2? That's not even an option. I looked at 20 VINs and so did Gordy and it was either 0 or 1. I have no idea. Check your truck just to make sure it is a 2. Look at the BCM doc spreadheet, no 2 at that bit.

 

I have over 100 trucks, maybe closer to 150 trucks for AsBuilt Hacker, none of them had a 2. They are either a 1 or 0. My guess if your having the headlights turning on to fast and you have a 2 there, that would be the reason why.
Your not going to destroy your truck by making the change and trying it. If it doesn't make a difference, put it back to 2.

 

OK, I don't know what pills I swallowed, but they messed up my eyesight.

I went back and looked at my Asbuilt and it is most definitely a 1. It was also a 1 when I got into Forscan. Changed it to 0 and we will see what effect it has over the next few days.

Sorry, just binged on them before I saw your post.

At least I waited to make the Forscan change, which is working btw.

 

Since reading this tread I decided to check mines. Stopped under an underpass for a light and it took 15 seconds for the lights to turn on. Guess that's why I have no complaints.
