I just picked up the iPhone 11 and am running 13.1 beta 4. Still has the issue. Works fine under Car Play. But I am not a big fan of Car Play even with the new layout.

I can demonstrate that my phone works perfectly in other Ford F150's and have done so at the dealer ship. The dealership just can't convince Ford to replace the APIM.

I might have to take this up with a regional manager.

 

Tell them that it locks up at random and you have to give it the Italian salute. That will get them to replace it.

 

Already too far down the road to start telling fibs.

I did file a case with Ford today. And emailed my service advisor that I want to speak to the Regional Manager.

 

Ford customer care just called. Big deal. No help.

Dealer tech called as well and he said that he had the same issue when he plugged in his Android phone. First time I heard that. But since they can't fault the APIM Ford won't pay for a replacement.

Question: Did everyone in this thread who had their APIM replaced have a fault or did the dealership just go ahead and replace based on the Ford Customer Care program?

 

Well, if you Must know! Reason mine was replaced is because of Forscan. When they did the update to the 19 version, the GT Performance theme is deleted, so it did not boot. Blank or blue screen is all they got, so ordered a new APIM. They installed it, and same thing. It downed on the SM that I had it setup to use a different background, so he called me and asked. I had to go there with my dongle and laptop and switch two fields back to default for the thing to start working again.


Jury is still out as to whether or not it has been repaired since I haven't used it yet for my phone, got it back last night and HATE HATE HATE the screen colors. I will be redoing the theme when I get home. Purple on black W t H! I do hope that it resolved the other intermittent issues with delays and the front camera not working at times.
