android auto not working
OK, I just bought my 2020 last Saturday so maybe I just have no idea how to get Android Auto working but......it's not working. I had android auto on my phone so I tried uninstalling and installing it fresh, didn't help. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S23. My phone is paired to my truck, all my contacts show up on screen. When my phone is not wired to the USB, "android auto" appears on the trucks screen as does "Mobile Apps". When you touch those items, it says I have to be connected by USB. When I connect by USB, both Android Auto and Mobile Apps disappear from the screen. I thought I was suppose to be able to see my phones apps on the Sync3 screen.
The app that I'm most interested in getting to show up on my trucks screen is "OnX Hunt", for those that are familiar. Everyone else I know can get it on their screen, but not me.
Any ideas?

I had this same problem. I disconnected my battery to chang out a starter. When done I set the clock to the correct time. A couple of weeks went by before I tried to use Android Auto. It didn't work. Long story short. When I reset the time on my truck, I didn't reset the date. After setting the corrent Date and time androd auto worked. I also have an S23 ultra.
Hope this helps.

I tried all the USB-C cables that I've got. I don't think anything was different. My apps certainly are not showing up on the screen and when I get to a screen that shows "Mobile Apps", that button is gray'ed out so I can't push it. If I unplug my phone that "Mobile Apps" button is no longer gray'ed out but when I push it, it says I have to be connected via USB. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH
If I go into Settings/Apps/Android Auto on my phone, it shows SYNC under "Accepted Cars" so that has got to be my F150 as it's the only Ford I own.

I just had 2 buddys come over, 1 with an iphone(a few years old, not new) and 1 with a Samsung Galaxy S20. The one with the iphone connected right up and his apps showed on my Sync3 screen immediately, perfect. The one with Samsung S20 was just like me with my Samsung S23, no apps showing up on Sync3. So maybe Ford's Sync3 only works with iphones?
There was one difference I noticed when my buddy with the S20 hooked up vs when I hooked up with my S23. When his S20 was hooked up there was a YT music icon, which I assume is YouTube music although it had no playlist. When I'm hooked up there is a Reuters News icon but no YT music icon. When he was hooked up there was no Reuters icon. So something about our phones influenced why one or the other of those icons showed up but none of our other apps showed up on Sync3
Is Sync3 an iphone only system with regard to apps?

Is Android Auto even starting or are you just not seeing apps. It should be a totally different screen when Android Auto starts. Have you tried both USB ports in the front cubby of the console?
