Adding reverse sensing to 2019 xlt
I also have a 2018 XLT 301A, and really missing the revers sensing sensors, i had them in my 2013 and never knew how much i miss them in my new truck, i have been investigating what will take to add the OEM revers sensing, and all comes down to the BCM Module replacement being the most difficult job, even dealers are not keen on doing the BCM Replacement, i found on ebay a used 2018 BCM from a 302A truck that has the PAM module, and i downloaded the BCM and PAM As build, the BCM Settings match my BCM 100%, so i am thinking since this BCM is already Initialized, i should be able to replace it load my BCM settings with Forscan, and re program my key's to it.
My 2020 302A came with the sensors.
I know this is not helpful to the OP but it is odd that they dropped this for 2019 then brought it back for 2020 unless it is a Canadian thing.

Hello - I just purchased a 2020 f-150 XLT with the 302A luxury package, Ford apparently dropped the reverse sensing system from that package and it must be specifically asked for during the “build”. The salesman is just as surprised as I am, anyway I traded in my 2017 f-150 XLT that had the reverse sensing system on it and it was shown as a line item on its window sticker. So the salesman had stated the 2020 is exactly the same as my 2017 except for the key fob vehicle start which didn’t both me as I can use FordPass to start the 2020. I put on 583 miles before I realized it didn’t have the reverse sensing system.
There is really no way to have the Ford OEM reverse sensing system install after the fact as there is no “Driver Assist” in the menus controlled on the left hand steering wheel thumb controls. What is a $475 ADD at the factory now would be at least a couple of grand. New bumper face bars at $383.86 that have to be painted, sensors @ $39.03 x 4 ea, new wiring harness $77.71, sensor rear brackets @ $11.14 x 4 ea, new bumper cover pad @ $94.58 not including labor, the various modules needed to communicate with the dash screens etc.
The aftermarket reverse sensing systems available are just that “an after thought”. I learned a lesson don’t trust a salesman, do your own investigation. I told the salesman that I’m not driving the 2020 until the 2021 f-150 is built to “my specifications” I’ll let you know how this turns out.

The only way to get a reverse sensing system is oemfordparts.com generic Ford part VAS4Z-15A866-B, this is the part that Ford recommends. Bare in mind as you back up and the system will beep more loudly as the sensors get closer to an object BUT the part is NOT integrated with the existing on board rear view camera unfortunately. The only true way to have a truly integrated reverse sensing system is have to built at the factory.
I found out this lesson as my 2017 did have the reverse sensing system installed from the factory, I traded it for a 2020 that the salesman said was exactly like my 2017, the 2020 did not have the reverse sensing system on it, both trucks had the 302A high end packages on them, I turned over the 2020 back to the dealer after owning it for 11 days and built a 2021 f-150 “my way” with reverse sensing system, interesting that the 302A package for 2021 has many more features on it like dual zone a/c, tailgate assist. Also the 2021 3.5L EcoBoost is rated at 400 HP versus the 2017 3.5L EcoBoost rated at 375 HP

Sorry to bump an older thread but didn’t want to start a new one-
I just found out the hard way that my 2020 XLT with the 302a doesn’t have the rear sensors or the box link system. Not really sure what ford was thinking with that. Super annoyed. Not the end of the world. But it’s freaking 2020. It should have parking sensors. And I’m the guy who pours over window stickers and I still missed it.
looks like there isn’t a good fix either.

For 2020 model year Ford dropped the reverse sensing system from the 302A package BUT is a option that could have been added for $275 bucks so the dealers should have made sure to have ordered the reverse sensing system on ALL their “LOT” trucks instead of drinking coffee and woofing down donuts and letting the customers suffer. However for 2021 the reverse sensing system along with dual zone climate control is now standard on 302A packages....go figure.
Has anyone completed this? I have a 2019 f150 Lariat, base model so it did not come with rear park aid. I know I would have to change the bcm and wiring, but I am just looking to see if anyone has does this and how much it cost them. Thanks
You would have to check at the BCM side of things, however I recently swapped my BCM (I have an XL 101a truck) for a BCM with PAM and Keyless start. The connector for PAM was already there and wired, not sure where at in the harness I will find the other end, but surprised it was there to begin with
