Adding factory remote start?
Definitely looking into this. I was going to get the extra fob version from a dealer who sells them on the facebook group. But, not having to go to Ford to get this programmed and use factory key is a winner. Probably go for the unlock, lock, unlock version to avoid the honk and not use forscan.
Was the unlock, lock, unlock version really $195 vs the $175 version? I messaged him asking. Would be nice to get it for $175.

Hey All
I have been doing a bunch of reading on the forums about remote start. It didn't come as an option on my XLT and I'm looking to add it. I have seen and read the many topics about the Ford OEM system that adds a second remote. Ideally id like a single key fob.
I've seen people ask about the 'factory' remote start and comments saying that it cant be added due to the remote running on different frequencies.
From what I understand the standard 3 button (Lock, Unlock, Panic) 'flip key' used in the XLT operates on the 315Mhz band while the 4 button (Lock, Unlock, Remote Start, Panic) 'flip key' operates on 902Mhz.
I have found a part online that appears to be the signal receiver for the key fobs. FL3Z-15607-C is listed as the receiver for the 902Mhz channel while FL3Z-15607-B is for 315hz.
I also found a control unit (FL3Z-15604-J) that supports remote start but I'm wondering if that is already installed in my vehicle and just not enabled.
What I'm hoping to understand is if the receiver was changed, new keys were cut / programmed and then remote start was enabled with IDS / FORScan would remote start work?
Can anyone with the service manuals tell where these parts are installed in the vehicle and if there is more parts to this system?

The username is a few pages back, like IB or JB something.....but no response so I actually ordered what was posted a few posts earlier, the one for $180 shipped. It shipped today so I should see it later this week. I didn't think of asking for the Lock Unlock Unlock as I don't care if the horn honks when I start my truck, this is 'Merica!
