Adding Automatic climate control
So I have a 2017 Super duty XLT, which if course shares the 15 and up F150 cab. So here I am on the F150 forum learning how to get what I want in my XLT. Unfortunately the top end Supersuty XLT isn't quite as nice as the high end F150 XLT. I have a couple of mods I want to do. First thing I.want to.ask about is automatic climate control. I know forscan can turn on the climate function on the sync 3 and I know the dual zone vents are different. But what about getting just the automatic climate function working, even if it isn't really dual zone? A couple of dash swap posts seemed to make it sound like the automatic temp can work with out the dual zone venting. So what is the real scoop on this?

I've done this to my XLT. I'm of course assuming that it's the same with the SuperDuty's, but haven't tested.
You need the center bezel from a higher level that has it. Really isn't much to do in Forscan other than turning on the Climate button for the Sync3 if you wish. The real useful one with Forscan is enabling the temp icons on the top of the screen, which also enables the temp change overlay. Think the volume change overlay, but for the temp.
Also everything works with mine with only those two changes.
The couple of things that don't work with the new bezel are:
Dual
Cooled Seats
You might lose the following:
Heated Seats - If you have them now, swapping the bezel you lose them as it's a different type of heating that the new bezel doesn't work with

Here is the bezel I purchased. Just by adding this I was able to use the Auto. Although until I added the Climate button to the Sync3 I had no clue what temp I was actually setting it to. Adding the temperature overlay and the icons in the top notification made it even easier.

At some point I might add the heated/cooled seats and the dual zone, but they aren't a high priority; so I haven't done too much research for those.

Thanks!
I am in the process of doing this and have already added the climate control quadrant to Sync 2. Do you know if I also have to change this value in ForScan: 7D0-01-02xxxxx*xxxxxxClimate Control Type: 2=Automatic, 6=Manual (or if controlled via hard buttons)
This thread has caught my interest. I've got a 2018 XLT Sport with sync 3, and was thinking how nice it would be to have climate control rather than just the plain heater controls, especially on long trips to save me from constantly fiddling with the dials to keep it from getting too hot/cold.
I was considering getting the Forscan, but wasn't sure how much I'd actually use it. If I can replace the plain heater control with climate control it may push me over the edge.
So I need to replace the bezel? Excuse my ignorance but what exactly does the bezel consist of, is it the entire central console? How much can I expect to pay for one?
I don't have heated or cooled seats, so I see no issues there.

I am trying to change my 19 XLT 302a to the Lariat bezel. The 1st problem I see on mine is mine has 2 top buttons and the 19 Lariats I find on Fleabay are all 3 top buttons.
What is the difference or what should I be looking for? Thanx

Hey guys, check out this thread if you haven't already- @mdmay62 has come up with a solution for the loss of heated seats.
As far as the buttons are concerned, just pop those out and replace with what yours currently has.

Just did the swap on mine. Friendly bit of advice. If you do not enable the climate menu in forscan, the blower will not work at all. I have no idea why this is, but I about ordered another one until I decided to give the climate menu a chance and BOOM, blower started working. The values I used on my 16 XLT
