I wonder if these increases are based off of the latest prices of the 2018, or the original prices? When I bought mine in Feb some newer builds were about $250 more base price than ones a couple months older
Ford uses almost all US made steel and aluminum, problem is at least two fold. 1) US makers can't keep up, thus causing an increase due to supply and demand and 2) Ford uses suppliers to build parts for them, those suppliers us foreign steel/aluminum, then pass their costs to Ford.

The XLT has the 8" Sync screen standard. That's why the jump is a little more on it.

I'm not sure the US can produce enough Aluminum to meet demand.

Your probably right, don't know if call chump change but will not keep me from buyer one. Its what they cost, if want it you pay it. Like my escalade, Next year they
will go up 10K, but will i not buy one, no. Marketing for Ford and Cadillac know this. You go wow and fork over the money. I just don't get so much for a 450 motor.
Same motor as in a lincoln Nav.

like comments from people who cant afford one. Saying people when spend alot on something,,,,, have no sense. No its sour grapes because
they can afford it. If they had the funds they would be spending it too, can guarantee you..............

The problem is that the federally funded subsidies to get new aluminum plants (like Braidy Industries in Ashland, KY) just got approved in the last two weeks for construction on the facilities to begin. In the case of Braidy, Kiewit was onsite prepping construction 6 weeks ago, but other facilities have not benefited from the head start that has taken place with the state of Kentucky providing funds in advance of federal funds being allocated.

Haha, yeah i got to laugh every time i hear a Britt try to say aluminum...no offense to the Britts, it is what it is.

Far as tariffs causing an increase in domestic prices, i say we've got enough steel here including recyclable steel, lets use it and create more jobs here.
Far as aluminum we've got plenty of bauxite mining sites right here in the USA and so does Canada which has or is about to agree to the NEW NAFTA trade agreement.

Now with all the plastic crap in these new vehicles, plastic is a derivative of petroleum. We got plenty of that also right here in the USA and Canada thanks to the recent relaxation of petroleum mining regulations.

Me thinks this tariff BS talk is a good excuse to appreciably raise prices on domestic products hopefully only for the short term.
But keep in mind most of these products and/or parts are still being manufactured and imported from Mexico, China and other Asian countries.
Lets keep the jobs and money right here in the good 'ol USA.

An out of work person or one with a low paying service job cannot afford to buy a brand new F150.

Actually, most of the metals used by Ford do come from U.S. manufacturers. The problem is that with the tariffs those manufacturers have raised prices to take advantage of the foreign prices being even higher with the tariffs.
