From diagnosis to rebuild because of failing drum, took two weeks start to finish. Picked the the truck up yesterday and it runs great so far.

Default 10r80 Issues

Reman transmission came into dealer on Wednesday, 1/25. Took the truck in on Thursday. Got it back on Saturday! Time will tell if the same issues come back. May be a good time to trade-up to a F250?!?!

All delays aside, I am not sure what would make me feel better about it. Rebuild or new or refurbished whatever they would do? Good luck with it. I hope it goes faster than you are expecting. I will post initial results in a few weeks or so I suppose. Thanks everyone.
Dealer ordered a new/reman transmission from Ford, approx 4 weeks out. They could not track down parts to rebuild in house as those are on backorder as well. Looking online the transmission has been replaced by JL1Z-7000-N, previous versions have been discontinued. Hopefully this comes with the new CDF Clutch Drum.

Thanks for sharing the part number! Maybe this will change over time but I am quite surprised the entire transmission is only $2800! (Plus a $1000 core)
If mine ends up with this issue I'm not even sure if I will try rebuilding it. May just swap in a new one at that cost.

Crazy. I'm still waiting on the call back to open it up. At this point I would probably feel better if they just ordered the replacement like you. Especially since it's currently drivable. Yeah! I hope what's needing of upgrade is upgraded on the newest revisions!

Part may be JL1Z-7000-BRM if remanufactured trans. Tough to tell from online sources.

Finally got the call back today. Scheduled for the 13th Teardown. Unfortunately the scheduler could not give me any additional information or scenarios. Like "if we find this we will do this" or "if we find that we will do that". I should hope I would get more information when I drop the truck off. She did say plan for a week. Whatever that's worth.
