2018 2.7 broken down...
First off, sorry for your troubles. I'm betting something minor and this is why we have a warranty. So many parts that having one defective just happens on occasion. You have a great truck and will be back on the road shortly.
Please update this thread when you find out what's wrong.

The second day of my 14 ended up on a flatbed too.
Wish I investigated a bit more, because it was only the electrical connection to one the COP's that popped off.
Nevertheless the tow truck driver was a nice guy, but man he was rough.
Of course it had just snowed and his gloves were covered in sand and the floor shifter got scratched the inside door handle, scratched and more.
That sucked especially when it was ready 5 minutes after it got there.
Fwiw, a misfire can feel like your transmission has disintegrated or a serious mechanical failure inside the engine. Your Temp gauge doesn't line up with a misfire tho. At least I don't think it would...

Is that what happens when the motor goes into a limp mode? If so that sounds likely
could be a lot of things.... I once had a plastic fan blade break and cause the fan to shake and whole truck to shake - thought I broken motor mount.
Wouldn't compare this to a taco as they are veru diff vehciles. These are almost as reliable and, except for tight trail off roaring, far more capable at everything.
Unless you saw oil drilling, chances are its pretty minor, albeit frustrating.

I was more trying to make light of the situation, and I caught a lot of flack when I jumped from being a Toyota guy to an F150 (never liked the tundra TBH), but outside of this isolated scenario, the truck has been awesome and I know they are vastly different

So the service department is closed today, so I will have to wait until tomorrow for answers at the earliest.
So far from your help (and some not as friendly people on the facebook page), I am guessing that it is either a faulty water pump or temperature sensor that either A) caused the motor to overheat... or B) caused the motor to BELIEVE it was overheating.
Hopefully the knocking/shaking was the misfire or something minor, and not damage to the motor. FWIW it was only noticeable when the vehicle was moving, and not while stationary with my head in the engine bay (which didn’t feel like an overheated motor). The motor sounded normal aside from the fans making a dull roar from operating at full strength.
This happened while driving down the highway, cruise set at 70, after ~25 minutes of driving

Yeah I spun the fan blades (with the motor off obv lol) and they seemed fine. That was a thought of mine as well.

Sounds similar to what I had a couple months ago.
Got some shaking and vibrating on the highway when accelerating. Check engine light came on for me too.
Ended up being a cylinder misfiring due to a bad coil. Was a quick fix.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks guys, I will *hopefully* find out what the issue is in the next couple of hours.
I have never experienced a misfire, but with the semi-common problems that I have read with the coils on some of these trucks, I imagine that would cause the shaking. My Harley shakes like a bastard when the rear cylinder cuts out at stop lights.
The only thing is that I only really noticed the shaking when I was driving but, but then again the sensation was through the pedal, and it could have been because of increase in RPMs
either was I still love my truck and it bums me out having to deal with this, and having to deal with all of my anti-ford buddies
