Default 2016 Screw XLT, wipers won’t turn off?

Anyone ever encountered this? 10 hr road trip, rain on and off so wipers on and off throughout the trip. A mile from our destination I turned them off, and they stayed on. Turned off the car and they turned off, but when I went back down to the car, in the off position, they still are on...truck is not equipped with auto wipers.

fuse? Switch shot?

My 2016 f150 xlt sc started this a couple weeks ago. It was the turn signal stalk. Pop open the top of your steering column(just pops up) and remove the turn signal stalk. Two very small torx head t10 screws. Remove and see if your wipers stop. That's what I did. Most auto parts stores have them around $50 or $80 from ford.

Most likely it's the turn signal switch, mine did the same thing...very easy to replace.

My 2016 Super Crew XLT just started doing this 2 to 3 weeks ago as well. I used the wipers in the morning to clear dew off the windshield, drove to work (wipers off) and parked the truck. When I came out to go home I turned the key and the wipers immediately went on at the lowest delay setting (the switch was off). I fiddled with the wiper switch turning it to high, low, and thru the delay settings several times and they stopped. It's happened 2 more times at random since. Good to know its an easy fix.

Truck has been parked while on vacation for a week, went back out and it’s still happening. Going to be a long 13 hr drive of window chattering home... 🙁

Its an easy swap, I did it in my 2015 XLT when the wipers did the same. Be sure to search for both Motorcraft or Ford P/N. I ended up finding the Motorcraft part on amazon for ~$35, but that was last year.

You would need to verify if the 2016 is the same, but I'm guessing it is.

You can pull the fuse in the fuse block behind the battery!
Look in the manual to find the exact fuse.
That is what I did until I can replace the stalk!
Good Luck.

did it kill the turn signals too? Or just the wipers? This is what I was thinking as well.

just the wipers!
My switch quit turning off just as I stated a 5 day 2000 mile trip!
It was annoying to say the least.
Pulled the fuse and continued, no other issues except the wipers....
Had good weather so only had to stop and reinsert the fuse once.
Just got home...ordering new switch now....
