My switch quit turning off just as I stated a 5 day 2000 mile trip!
It was annoying to say the least.
Pulled the fuse and continued, no other issues except the wipers....
Had good weather so only had to stop and reinsert the fuse once.
Just got home...ordering new switch now....
Where are you ordering from? Debating on where, since it’s 62 at Ford locally. Randomly, my right turn signal bulb quit about 15 min into the drive too. (Started fast blinking, just got out for gas and confirmed it’s out.). Is it possible that is causing the wiper issues via the switch?

thanks all, really appreciate the help!

Locally at Autozone....will be here tomorrow. 74.00 deliveried.
Tasca was 48 but you never know when it will arrive. Plus shipping.
I want it fixed asap.
Careful when you order to get the correct one....ie..auto wipers, etc.

One site looks like it's SW7016 and one says the 7016 is wrong and you need the 7917? I do not have auto wipers. Which did you order? Can anyone confirm the right one for me please?

Default Here’s the fix with links

This is a known issue with an easy fix. I don’t know much about cars and swapped out the stalk in about 10-15 minutes.

Buy a replacement OEM part here for ~$60:

Motorcraft SW7917 Switch Assembly https://a.co/d/fya6O9C

Watch this video for easy steps. I didn’t have the #10 torx screwdriver so I just used a small flathead that fit perfectly. You also need a 7/32” socket.

Boom!
