2016 F150 Hypertech Speedomater Calibration Tool

I purchased the Hypertech as I went from 265/70R17's to 275/65R20's. My speedo was off ~6% (reading high). So an indicated 70 mph was actually 74.2 mph by my GPS app. I verified the GPS app with a tachymeter.
Just plug and play, took just a few minutes. I ended up putting in 32.5 inch tires on the Hypertech to make it balance with the GPS. Now the speedo and odo are spot on.
The truck drives and shifts much better and now has the same shift points as stock. Also the mpg meter returned to the proper reading.
I've used Hypertech products for many years. They are a great company. I called their engineer and asked why I had to input 32.5 instead of the 34 inch (assumed) tire height. He said there are many factors/tolerances involved and to just sync it with a GPS like I did.
I give it five stars.

Just a suggestion...
Download the Tuner Application Update software from Hypertech's website and update the firmware prior to using.

I didn't update the FW beforehand. If you don't mind me asking, what's the benefit to doing this?
Also, I have LT295/60/R20 which is close to 34" but the speedo wasn't accurate with the GPS until I tweaked it down to 32.25. I've read that many others have had the same issue.
One thing I didn't pay attention to was the default/stock tire size when I began. If/when I take the truck to the dealer for service, I've read that i'll need to flash it back to stock tire size beforehand. Does anyone know what size that would be? Thanks in advance for everyone's help

Mine automatically saved the stock settings. Your's should have too.
You return it back to "stock" if you take it to the dealer.
Pecked out on my iPhone.

Depending on when the device was manufactured, the firmware that was installed may not be current and up to date.
Firmware updates fix any small issues or errors found with the previous version of firmware and also ensure the speedometer calibrator is compatible with the current calibration in the PCM.
If the tool successfully wrote to the vehicle without any error messages indicating the firmware was not compatible with the calibration in the PCM then that wasn't an issue.
Anytime I purchase a new turner or speedometer calibrator, the first thing I do is update the firmware prior to tuning the vehicle - just a good practice to get in the habit of doing.

What would happen if ya don't return it to stock settings when ya take it in for whatever warranty work & or normal service (Oil Change)?

if they happened to flash your truck while it was in for service, it would overwrite the aftermarket calibrations and leave you with a programmer stuck with a stock tune in it.
