Why not spend a little more money and get the Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 Tuner with speedometer calibration built in? Are the Hypertech performance tunes not worth it? Pretty good performance gains imo.

Just plug and play, took just a few minutes. I ended up putting in 32.5 inch tires on the Hypertech to make it balance with the GPS. Now the speedo and odo are spot on.

The truck drives and shifts much better and now has the same shift points as stock. Also the mpg meter returned to the proper reading.

I've used Hypertech products for many years. They are a great company. I called their engineer and asked why I had to input 32.5 instead of the 34 inch (assumed) tire height. He said there are many factors/tolerances involved and to just sync it with a GPS like I did.

I give it five stars.
There's no way 10 cm changed your speed that much. I went from 265 to 35 tires and MY speedometer is 5 mph slow which is verified by gps, radar, and friends

What are you talking about? My new 275/65R20's are 2.5 inches taller than my original 265/70R17's. I was reading 4.2 mph fast.

Isn't 2.5 inches equal to 6.35 cm?

Where are you getting 10 cm?

So I used the hypertech and for 34.4...found thru 2 gps units that 32.5 is spot on for speedometer.
Now, my question. Stock shift points, I used to hit 4th at 24mpg... now it takes till 30. 5th gear used to be 35...now is 40, 6th was 49..now 54.
Does this mello out and relearn itself or should I have bought something to do shift points as well?
I plan on calling them, just would like to hear from others if this is normal or not.
Thanks

Mudder, Give it some time to adjust and adapt. Mine was doing similar but began to reduce the mph shift points soon.

Mine has a 3:55 rear and with factory tires shifted into 6th at 43 mph. After the big tires and speedo correction, she would shift into 6th at 50 or so. Now she has settled and shifts into 6th at 45 mph.

The heaver tires creates more resistance and I believe that's why it went from 43 to 45mph shifting into 6th. Of course with a slight hill or head wind, she shifts at 50mph or so.

EDIT: You are spot on with the Hypertech set at 32.5. I believe that's what I did with the same 34" inch tires.

ok thanks, guessing then the truck needs to re learn?...
I've got the 3.55 gears as well. Wonder why different shift points...6th was always 49 for me.
I did find out though since this is my 3rd set of tires... the 1st stock set, the speedometer was off from the factory a tad with the 31.6x10.6 tires.
2nd set were 32x11s and Speedo was spot on with no adjustments

My truck is a Coyote and yours is a 2.7. Maybe that makes a difference.

Pecked out on my iPhone.

First, I've been waiting since last year for HyperTech to come out with a calibration tool for the 2017's, frustrating!

Pretty sure I read somewhere that if you disconnect the battery then the computer will re-learn the way you drive which is applied to the transmission shift points etc.??

Hi: I just tried Forscan today to correct the speedo on a 2017 F150 with bigger tires. It does fix the speedo, but the PCM sets a code for invalid data received from the BCM and illuminates the wrench lamp in the cluster. The tire size needs to be corrected to match in the PCM, but the function has been dropped (at least for this model) on Ford's IDS.
