Default 2015 TPMS issue

Hello all! I hate to ply the group with a TPMS issue, but I just don't get what is going on. I have a 2015 platinum 4x4 with 3.5 ecoboost. This last winter I bought 4 20in Rims with a set of blizzaks on them, installed at a local tire dealer. Basically around town they are fine, all four tires read 32 psi, (and on check are right at 34-35 psi). But after about 15 to 20 minutes of freeway driving I get the TPMS warning light going off. If I check the hud for psi all 4 tires don't read it just has lines through it.

I get home, and usually the next day or two of local driving it goes away and they all read normal again. But next time I get on freeway same thing happens.

All I can think of is that the tires are getting so warm that all the sensors are going off because the pressure has changed too much? But I have other vehicles with snows on and run them all over without this issue?

The tire store, just kinda says yep it is winter tires and when it is cold and things warm up sensors just go off.

I know TPMSs are a pain, but I just think this is weird! Otherwise I do love the truck!!!! But kinda wished I had waited for 2016 for that backup system as I will be buying a boat this year and am nervous to back it up!

I have a 2015 also and I've had one tpms sensor act like that three times since I bought the truck in October (2300 miles). It's always the left rear on mine. I have the original tires still. I was going to take it back to the dealer, but it's always working the next day. I figured I'd just wait to see if it gets worse.

I have one that behaves like that.. You don't have your original wheels stored in the garage do you? You can try doing the tire reprogramming and see if this helps.

Indeed I do have the original wheels and sensors in the garage for summer mount. And did not have an issue with them. Just the issue with new wheels, tires, and sensors. I had the garage reprogram them when it first happened. And not sure when I switch back to my factory if it will all resolve. I hope so!

My point was maybe the truck is reading the summer wheels when you have it in the garage.

Try pumping the left front up to 40 psi and see it it reads it correctly..

Ahhhh, I get what you are saying. The summer wheels are actually stored in a second garage about 30 ft away. But I get your point. But then wouldn't the TPMS go off as soon as I drove to work or around town? It only happens after 20 min of freeway driving when I go to ski or drive out of town. And always happens. If I drive around town they never go off?

Thanks for your thoughts though. I will try pumping one up and see what happens.

As all four of yours act like my one bad one in that it only acts up on the freeway after driving for awhile,, I guess you could have Four bad ones. But odds are against that.

Also set it to display full time so you can watch the tire pressures and see if the pressure climbs up a few pounds as the tires warm up to check that they are reading right in town.

Are they Ford OEM sensors or aftermarket? I read on another forum someone having similar problems with aftermarket sensor. I got Ford ones and didn't do a thing. Truck picked them up and they've worked fine all winter.

I do watch it on the freeway, and it reads all four at 31-32 psi, they don't move, the warning goes off, I click ok, then scroll back to sensors and none of them show a psi just 4 lines ---
Why it just doesn't make sense to me! Thanks for rolling it around in your head
Seems like the sensors must be good, because as I drive around town they never go off.

But they should show the pressure going up a little. We are looking to see if they are actually talking to the truck when they seem to be working.

Funny that all four are showing -- at exactly the same time.. If it was heat or pressure related you would think they would be one after the other..
