Default 2.7 thoughts???

hey guys,
new to the site not the company I have a 14 5.0 gt that I love to death but its now time to get a truck. at first the thought of not having a v8 for sound scared the crap out of me, but I think for what I need it for, the 2.7 would fit my needs. wanted to see if anyone had any major issues, motors been out a few years now so hoping we have some field tests done. also if anyone has thrown any mods on one id love to hear what set ups people are running.
cheers!

I have a 2016 2.7 Screw. The motor will surprise you! It has great passing power on the hiway. I am getting about 800km/tank, 13.8L/100km (give or take). I only have issues with my locks, but that is affecting F150s with all 3 motors.

I bought my 2.7 in March 2015 and put 67k on it so far. SuperCrew 4x4 FX4. No troubles at all. Love the mileage I get for a full-size truck, and I can still tow my 7500lb trailer with ease. I doubt I'll ever have to tow more than I do now, so if I ever have to buy again, or if I trade up, I'll be getting another 2.7 for sure.

You drive quite a bit too! I have 10Km on mine in 3 months...not as much driving as you. What are you averaging?

My buddy at work ordered a 17 Limited with a 2.7 and a couple weeks ago it blew up.....idling in his driveway warming up before he left for work.....with less than 1000 miles on it. No sign of any issues before that.

The 2.7 isn't offered in the limited.

The 2.7L Eco is a beast. We had an 05 RAM w/ 5.7L Hemi and this little 6 blows it out of the water. I went in to buying a truck to get as basic a truck as possible and I'm absolutely blown away that the smallest motor is such a beast.

Summer is about 9 to 10.5L/100km combined with ~70% highway. Highways doing 100 is about 9L/100km. Freeways doing 80 is 8.1-8.7. Winter always takes a dump though with winter gas, steel rims, and lots of 4x4 driving. This winter I'm averaging 11-13L/100km depending on conditions.

My average for my first 30,000km's was 10.6 (For the Americans, this is 22.2 MPG):

The trip meter resets after 9,999km's (see the time and fuel used). This was taken in the winter and the average was starting to take a dive when I took the pic. I was actually driving in 4x4 when I took the pic... Prior to the winter I was at 9.7 average (~24 MPG).
