Default Wiper problem..

Hey guys whats up, i found this great looking forum and decided to jion. i own a 1987 ford f150 xl 5.0 4 speed. I hate to rush right into asking questions but i dont have much to say about my self.

the problem:
When the truck is running, you turn the wiper **** to the low setting and nothing happens, turn them to high and they work. when you have them on low and you push the E-brake and release it the bang from the E-brake makes the wipers work on low.. but as soon as you turn them off, you have to do the same process. what might the case be here? i wouldn't think wiper motor cause if it was the motor it wouldn't work on high either.

Thanks for reading this and let me know what you guys think.

off to browse the forums!

Might be the wiper delay computer or box.

It's the wiper control module, follow the wires from the switch down and you will find it. Small black box, open it up and resolder the bad connections.

It could be the wiper motor or a wiring/loose connection. The bang of the parking brake could be like hitting the motor with your hand. It's an 87 so it could be either. Pop the hood, turn the wipers on and jiggle the connector. If that doesn't work, hit the motor. If that doesn't work then you have a wiring issue.
