(You and I wouldn't get along very well.)

The comparrison you state misses the point.

Refering to 'any old' R-12 as 'Freon' would be similar to your statement about puffed rice.

Refering to R-134/a as 'Freon' would be like also reffering to grain rice as 'rice crispies'.

No, you quoted me then commented about old freon. I didn't say anything about old freon at that point so there was no reason to quote me.

Look here buddy, if your wife asked you to hand her the Rice Crispies and all you had was Puffed Rice, you'd hand her the Puffed Rice and say "Here you go honey".

Perhaps in your house.
Such behavior would be corrected here.

I'm sure you would have issue if one were to say refer to your F-150 as a 'toyota'.
You don't call your motorola flip phone an I-phone.
Just try talking to a harley nut and see how long you can refer to his bike as a honda.

That's where generic terms come in. Freon is a generic term. The generic term for F150 is truck, and for Harley is motorcycle. We all know what is being talked about. Your arguement has no value, try again.

Sometimes its not healthy to wake up mad. @sean sometimes people just cant take jokes, kid around, or try and just go with it but have to be 100% literal and taking everything serious

That is where you are wrong.
It is not a generic term, it is a brand name.
The generic term would be refrigerant.

It is a generic term because people use it as a generic term. Refrigerant is an optional generic term.
