I believe you have to disassemble it, to remove and install new glass, there should be a seam somewhere on the frame, the glass is held in by a rubber type seal, to get the assy out, pull the door panel, there is 1 or 2 bolts on the door, and there is either 1 or 2 phillips screws on top of the door frame, roll down window, now you can manoeuvre the frame to come out.

Hey I'm an ex glass guy, if you just want the vent window look around sometimes there cheaper for new ones on ebay or some online parts store. Clean out the track with a small flat head screw driver and to install use black silicone. If you get at a junk yard it's easy to remove the whole frame. remove door panel philip screws & 10mm socket. if truck in junk has power windows all philip screws on panel. Manual crank window handle has a torks I belive T-15 or T-20. Vent glass frame has 2 10mm bolts on the frame and 2 p/screws on the top front door itself.

I'm not sure of the question? Are you trying to take the window frame itself of the frame that sit in the door? If so I belive you have to drill the top pivot out and unbolt the bottom one with the spring from the frame. Spray spring & bolt with liquid wrench or PB blaster (better) or you'll snap the bolt. good luck

I have a question on this. The **** on my drivers vent window is rusted and swelled and I'm afraid to open the vent window now or it may break off. I'm wanting to replace the window as that seems like the easiest solution. But to me, it looks like I can take the top pivot off by just drilling out the rivet in the top hinge. I don't need a new frame, just the window with **** attached. If I drill out that rivet, will the bottom lift straight out, or do I have to pull the panel and unbolt something? It looks like theres just a pin on the bottom that slips in, but I haven't taken it apart to see yet.

I don't want to start taking it out to find out that it won't work, and then have no window in the truck. Has anyone removed just the window, like I'm wanting to do?

Also, I have a rivet gun, so putting a rivet back into the top pivot shouldn't be an issue. The only concern I have is removing the bottom pivot of the window.

There's a roll pin that holds the **** on the window.

I would use some card board and some duck tape and then paint it black so you can say its just really dark tint.

ok so next time you lock your keys in your truck you are going to need 2 spoons. bend the spoons in the middle 90 degrees, hold the spoons by the spoon part and with 1 in each hand slide the handles in threw the vent window. use 1 spoon handle to push in the pin lock and the other to flip up the lock.
