Got the trans out and pulled it apart and one of the roller bearnings basically exploded in side. There was a ton of shavings and metal shards in there. So I am not even going to try and rebuild it right now, sometime this week I will go get one from a junk yard. The clutch in there didnt seem to bad, normal wear, did have some heat spots but nothing over the top. It turns out that I did have a 11" clutch in there so I had to return the 10" I bought. I did by a new slave cylinder for it since I have everything apart I figured I might as well put that in. Here are some pics-

Cool, I like pictures. That 4wd tranny looks the same length as my 2wd, but with the transfer case adapter instead. I wonder if you could use a 2wd tranny... Anyways, '88-'96 will work but '92-'96 is stronger.

So I got the tranny and put it in and got everything back together and I go to bolt the start up and notice that who ever took the last starter off broke the bolt......................So now there is about 3/16" of bolt sticking out from it. I really dont want to take it out to bring back to the place. Any ideas of how to take it out? I want to try and avoid Heli coiling it.

Vice grips are the first thing to come to mind.

Tried them but I cant get enough grip on it. I think Ill try and weld a nut to it and wrench it off. I did get everything on and the truck runs! The starter is tight so for now I will leave it the way it is. Clutch grabs nice and low and no more weird noises from the trans!
