Default Tranny problems.

Well as most of you know I did an engine build and put it in my truck in August, 408 Windsor. Well my transmission had 190k miles on it when I put the new engine in. It's the 4R70W and first gear started slipping last week and last night I was drivin it home and it's like it was goin in and out of gear.. So I'm thinkin it's time for a new trans. I want to do a 5 speed so I can control my shift points better.. What do you guys think about that? Or could I get some sort of shift kit for the automatic tranny? How do I need to figure out my gear ratios and stuff? Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Your stock transmission has ALOT of aftermarket support because they put it in mustangs.
You can build that Trans to take all the hp you can get out of your new motor and then some.

Make sure to match the torq converter to your cam shaft and depending on the Trans shop try to upgrade as much as you can over factory parts.

i know Sean but it's a lot easier to just build this one rather than a build and a conversion lol

Keep it clean and organized! There's a lot of parts in automatics. Good luck!
