Default ticka-tick

I have a lot of tick-tick-tick type noise from the truck. I hear it more coming from the right as I drive the truck. What could be causing it? my uninformed guess is a leak in the passenger side exhaust manifold

Where u been hiding? Probably ex man gasket or crack, does it go away or softens when it gets hot? Is it a mechanical ticking sound? Might also be a stuck lifter. Or might it be the injectors?

Mine had the same issue. I had a broken manifold bolt causing a leak.

mine makes the noise also from a crack in the manifold. this is one of those things you'll wish you had changed when the engine was out but could never see coming.

the manifolds are junk, i have had 2 different motors break one a 5.8l and a 5.4l!! but yeah it sounds like either a crack in the manifold or a broken bolt. look around the manifold to see if you seen any black soot

Or a Seafoam treatment will show any leaks when you restart.

dirtcrew it's the same engine hot or cold, you can't really hear it at idle but when you step on it to accelerate you can hear it.
