Unhappy Stuck!! Please Help!!

1990 F150 5.0 5sp manual. I was coming home from out of town, stopped to get gas and when I went to pull off it felt like something was holding me back. I had to rev up the rpm's just to get going (same for all gears). I finally got home but it took 4,000-5,000 rpm's to make it. The brake light was on and rear antilock light was on. I tried to move it today but wont move at all. Its my only vehicle and I have to travel about 40 miles to and from work everyday. I have until Monday to figure this out and get it fixed. Please Help!!

Absolutely not. That was the first thing I checked. I even checked to make sure the cable was loose upon release. I engaged it and released it multiple times.

it sounds like your ABS system is confused/falty. try disconnecting the battery(with the e-brake off) for 15 mins, then reconnect and start the truck. if the light doesn't go off and reset the ABS light, post what your results are...if any

When you stopped to get gas did you engage your e-brake? Because I have the same problem on my 95 sometimes when I engage my e-brake and release, it doesn't release all the way for some reason so what I do is press e-brake down and release several times and eventually it will release the brakes. Your problem sounds identical to this.

Ok, disconected the battery. Nothing changed. I've set and released the parking brake multiple times and no change. Could my brakes be locked inside the hub? ABS light and brake light still on.

Does it bind in reverse as well as forward? Maybe take off the brake drums and physically inspect them . After that I would check the rear end.

Yes, forward or reverse. It got dark on me so I'll have to start again in the morning. I'm going to start by inspecting the brakes but if thats not it how would I know that the rear end is bad?

remove the rear drums, if they dont want to come off chances are your rear brakes are locking up... if they arent locked up then while you have it jacked up (chock the front wheels front and back, and jack up the whole rear end) try and turn the tires.

Our trucks dont have abs, the abs light usually comes on when the brake light comes on, possibly a frozen front caliper.
