Default Steering Problem

Alright for awhile now my truck('95 F150 302) has gone in and out of alignment. If I take a sharp turn or turn up a hill it will pull one way for awhile. Today it did it again only this time it won't straighten itself out. Any ideas? Also had new tie rod ends and alignment done no more then 6 months ago.

have the same thing going on. Just changed suspension, ball joints, tie rods, radius arm bushing, front axle u joints, and hubs. got it aligned and the steering feels weird. feels like it keeps trying to pull left after i have turned the wheel right. You ever find out what was causing your prob?

Nope not yet. Haven't had time to go take a look. Sounds like it could turn into more work then I had planned for...I'll let ya know what I find out.

I talked to a guy yesterday that said the problems we are having indicate that the steering gear is too tight

That would be nice just have to make an adjustment in the gear box...my ball joints and radius arm bushings all looked good...i'll let ya know when I make the adjustment to see if it fixed it.

Found this in another thread...looks like the guy you talked to was right..

believe it or not but, your axle pivot bushings play a crucial role in your steering. They commonly wear out and are sometimes confused with radius arm bushings. If your steering gear adjustment doesn't work, I'd bet your axle pivot bushings are mushy.

I posted a thread a couple of days ago with the same problem. Everything is either new or tight up front, but it stills pulls left. The Drag link had a LITTLE bit of play, so I will replace that this weekend. I have not touched the steering gear in 3 years when I last tighened it. Why would it be an issue now?
