Default Something different

Ok some I moved from the trans to under the hood of my92.
This is a 5.0 and I am wondering what this does..
In the picture if you can see it.. numbers 30 and 31.
30 is completly broken off of 31 or vis-vsa. The engine seems to run fine with out it...no codes...but exhaust fumes enter the cab..etc.
I have seen other posts that mention removing and plugging something that sounds like this.

That looks (a little blurry) like the smog pump tubing. This link might give you some additional info:

http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

You can bypass the pump on the lower passenger side of the motor, and plug the back of the heads where the tubing in your pic connect. From there, you just need to plug the hole left in the cat after pulling the pipe out.

Thanks
The hole left in the cat? The O2 sensor is in Y pipe before the CAT and if I recall correctly there is some sort of vacume tube after the CAT and before the muffler. are these ther things people talk about getting rid of in order to get rid of the CAT? If I plug can I get rid of all the pumps, pullys and the like?

No, you won't be removing the oxygen sensor. There's an air tube that runs to the cat from the smog pump, that's the one you need to plug. If you pulled off the smog equipment then you can get rid of the pump too.

I would like to get rid of everything draging on the engine..including the air conditioning. heck I'd like to put an eletric fan on as well.
Headers and cold air intake...and reprogram/ flash or chip the computer.

you'd probably need the a/c delete pulley to eliminate that because of the belt routing, but if you don't want it, get rid if it. i do recommend the electric fan just put in a thermostatic switch so you don't have to switch it on manually every time. i (and at least 1 other) don't think a CAI is worth it on these trucks, just put in a flat k&n replacement. before you do any mods, you need to upgrade to mass air, the speed density computers don't like any mods

Unless you want to get rid of the weight you don't have to pull the a/c compressor. It is just like an idler pulley when not engaged.

Default Cross over pipe

take the cross over pipe off (the one that goes from head to head) flip it 180 and reinstall. it closes off the ports in the back of the head, or you can just buy the plugs and do it that way.... the holes are threaded, they are the same size as the alt mount bolt.

The Mass air were on the 93s or later models?
Can I find it used or are new ones reasonable?

Unfortunately the cross over has a big hole where the valve assem used to be So can I get the plugs at the auto parts? will the tenisonor take up the slack from removing the pump?

I can look at my service man, but I like to ask guys in the know just the same.
