I am planning the same thing. Let me know how it goes. I would recommend removing the inner wheel well and tire to gain better access.

if it was the cheap summit set, those are pace setters and i just put a setin my dads truck, i had to cut off the collector on the exhaust( not the header) and turn it almost 180 deg.

I put a set of dynomax on my old 92, fit right in, just need to get some threaded rod for a couple of bolts, 1 for the intake bracket, and the other for the oil dipstick. There is about an inch or 1 1\4 depth difference between the manifolds and the header flange.

I put some on my old F150 a few years ago, it was a '90 F150 with a 351W. I found it easier to come up from the bottom, than try to go top down. The pass side is snug, but they do fit. I had no issues, and the exhaust bolted right on.

You're in for a lot of time and pain. Go in from the bottom thats what i did. But i ended up having to rig it up because the flange and the stock collectors didnt line up, so i had to cut the flange and the collectors off and weld them but hopefully you dont have to.
