Default shifting problem

So this problem had been bugging me for some time now. My truck shifts through all the gears but when shifting from second to third the tranny only leaves it in third for about to second and goes to forth. Well the overdrive button doesn't work. If you leave the right turn signal on while driving it shifts perfect through all the gears but does not shift into overdrive. My question is it a matter of getting a new shift lever with all new wiring or are wires crossed somewhere.

So after some research i found out that all e4od trannys have a locking torque converter. So the "skip" of a gear is not a skip at all it's the TC locking up. Hitting the brakes will unlock the TC. but now I'm wondering why only the right turn signal affects the TC locking

Yeah i guess somehow my turn signal is running through the brake circuit. But I'm going to see if i can get into my steering column after work and see where those cut wires connect to. Hopefully correct my broken OD button

I have to figure out how to get the key cylinder out to get the top piece of trim off to expose the wires

Yeah doing a little research here at work and those are definitely the overdrive wires. So it's just a matter of getting everything apart to fix it
