Rusty
here in the ARM PITT OF THE USA(va) the state dumps millions of tons salt on the road when it snows, so may 95 f150 (never off road or on the beach) brake lines rusted out last year, luckly i was pulling into my driveway when the peddel went to the floor, put on SS lines, this year the oil pan rusted through, not one spot the hole pan is leaking, taking the motor out to put pan on and found out the core support is gone around the mounts, lots of bolts are breaking off also.
the truck is lighter now i chiped and scraped off huge chucks of rust off of the calipers and frame.
anybody else have the same trouble ?

The armpit of our country is New Jersey.
Yep, I'm in Pittsburgh and mine is as rusty as can be. Undercoating is nice. I have to replace the brake line across the rear axle to the rear pass drum, it's starting to look really bad. It's just something you have to get used to living in a snow state.
VA barely uses salt compared to what we see up here. I was finishing up a job interview Dec 18th in Richmond when the big snowstorm hit. I didn't see a single plow out. It took them 2 days just to clear Rt 95. If you wanna see salt damage, come to PGH

At least the rust is not as bad as toyota's or chevys, my dads got an 2001 2500hd and it has rust holes in the bumper, probably wouldn't hurt to undercoat it even if you have to do it yourself with spraypaint

Being from jersey I can attest to this. We get everyone's left over weather, refugees from other states, mexicans, corrupt politicians and environmental fall out. On top of that, we use more salt on our roads than any other state, mostly due to people here still not knowing how to drive in the snow. I discovered on my 94 that the rear of my frame has holes in it, brake lines are ready to break up front, my rear shackles actually completely rusted off, rear tank rusted through, one of my front coils rusted and broke (waiting on new ones to be delivered). My oil pan looks about ready to start leaking form rust, radiator support is gone, I have no idea what is holding up my fenders at this point. Surface rust is starting on my floor pans, and cab corners (be treating that if it ever stops raining and spring gets here). Also very heavy scaling rust on frame and especially shock/coil mounts. So yes i feel you pain. And I bought this truck from VA 2 years ago.
I had a friend who had an 88 f150 300 the od quit at 230,000 5 years ago, he was pulling his boat up a hill and the back of the truck frame broke and pulled off hitch and all, he had a good 3 inch gap on the fenders, but it still ran good
from ohio here, so i hear ya on the salt and rust, my ole explorer is rotted out, luckily for me my truck was undercoated and well taken care of, but you can still see the rust on its way, i feel like sometimes in the winter i can see the salt eating my truck right in front of me, dodges seem to be the worst, once the charge thingy goes, they catch up real fast, my goal for after college is to head west, utah, colorado, nevada, somewhere, i know they still get snow, but the OHV parks out there look amazing
