Default Replacement mirrors

Has anyone ever changed their mirrors from the swing-away type to the smaller ones. My truck has the swing away mirrors (i'm guessing part of the tow package) and I'd like to put the smaller ones on it. The brackets on mine are rusted and the housing has dents in them. I wouldn't mind just replacing them with the same kind but all the ones i've found (lmc and ebay) have the bolt holes on the top of the mounting bracket and my mirrors have bolt holes on the bottom. I know I'll have those holes in the side of my doors if I get the small ones but I'm wondering about the inside and the door panel. Any advice or pics would be helpful. thanks in advance. Oh yeah, I'm probably just going to put manual ones on, found a set on ebay for about $40 shipped.

What about the inside and door panel? The mirrors don't affect that.

do the smaller mirrors adjust from the inside of the truck? I was just wondering if the door panel played a part in that?

Only the power mirrors adjust from the inside, using the little four way selector and switch for left/right mirror, but that option is part of the driver's side power window/power lock controls on the door panel.

That's what I didn't know. Thanks.

Yes, you did say you were going to use manuals. If you wanted to use power then putting in the switch shouldn't be a big deal.

I didn't know if the manual mirrors had a little toggle switch doo dad that actually comes inside the door that moves the mirror. I guess you actually adjust the mirror itself?

Alright! So I've found some mirrors on ebay that say they are replacement for my truck but the brackets are a little different than mine. I'm not sure if these brackets are made to be flipped or what? Here is a pic of the ones on my truck and the ones in question.

You can see the bolt holes on mine are on the bottom of both brackets

On these the top bracket looks right but the lower bracket has the bolt holes at the top

And on this one the top bracket has the holes on the bottom and the lower brackets are right

I wonder if the wiring harness is already in the door, if I have manual mirrors? I wouldn't mind power mirrors if I could get them from a wreck....I guess I'd need to change the drivers inside door panel too?
