replace slave
The wetness could be oil, water, and a whole slew of other things unfortunately.
If you are going to replace your slave, my honest to god recommendation is to change the release bearing, pilot bearing, and the clutch. Check the condition of the pressure plate and the flywheel.
If you see any blue scuffing on the flywheel replace it as well, although it probably won't have any unless your clutch as slipped.
I guess it boils down to personal choice, but all I know is I do not like removing my tranny anymore than it needs to be, so while I'm in there make sure everything is in super shape.

I agree! what else could it be if its not the slave cylinder? there seems to be about 1-2" of play in the clutch where I can pull it up about 2 inches and it will stay there but it wont do it unless I pull it up(although having it up does not seem to make a difference) air in the lines? help I really do not want to pull the tranny
5 speed M5OD has the concentric slave, the throwout bearing is part of it. 4 speeds have the external slave. The 10" or 11" clutch will fit, use the 11". You won't have to change it again. If you want to try bleeding first, all you have to do is remove the clutch master cylinder cap and pump the pedal over and over, pressing down as fast as possible and letting it come back up as fast as possible. It takes a while, but if there aren't any leaks it will eventually come back up.
no i didnt pump the pedal at all, I thought that you were saying that by taking the cap off the clutch would sink to the floor. and it didnt. so you think I should pull the cap off and then pump the hell out of the clutch?
