Default ready to start a fire!

1995 f150 4x4 supercab 5.8 auto tranny dual tanks. no power to either pump,no power to tank selector switch. ive checked relay, fuse, inertia switch.i had to remove ignition key cylinder because previous owner lost keys using a screwdriver to turn ignition would that cause a problem? tranny shifter has a lot of slop gonna replace with a floor shifter for the aod if i determine this truck is worth it is there some sort of neutral switch on the colum that would b causing this problem if shifter not making contact? ir i werent already bald i would b well on my way

Almost everyone says pull bed, but I drop tanks. I do think the bed is the easier route I just never want to do that..... The tank pumps are damn near impossible to hear in many circumstances. Does the high pressure pump on the frame rail work ok? What did you do to get power back and what was the problem? Maybe that will help us think about this as well....

By the way....The truck should still run with only high pressure pump going. It will strain harder and die quicker, but it should still run. I had some out and it ran, but I changed the in tank pump when I realized it was a problem.

There was a switch on the steering colum that the shifter was not making contact with i bypassed it. Did not know there was another pump. I removed the filter which was n bad shape turned the key on just to check and no fuel came out. Guess ill drop the tank change the front pump put on a new filter and c what i get. Just find it strange for pumps to go out. But it has been sitting for 4 years

there is not another pump just the ones in the tanks. 1992-1996/7 they dropped the frame rail pump and went with high pressure intank pumps.

and you should hear the pump whine. i've never been in a 92-96/7 that you couldnt hear whine with the door open,

get used to changing pumps most of the ones you buy at the parts stores only last about 3-4 years.

I say drop the tank when changing the pump, doing the bed is a pain. '87-'89 have the frame pump and tank pumps, '90-'96 have tank pumps only.
