If its a small pipe about 1\2 or 3\4 diam, is the AIR pipe, its a pipe that comes from the egr pipes from the back of the heads. It should go to the resonator or cat, cant remember.

It should go from the smog pump valve to before the cat.

You can get rid of it, if you don't have inspections.

The only thing it will do is make it pollute slightly more.

Like Sean said, it will make it pollute more. Removing all that crap will free-up exhaust flow and make the truck run better too.
