would the EGR or EVP cause the crappy idle?

 

The crappy idle is usually the IAC, and since they're both in the intake then they're probably both crapped up with deposits. I'd try cleaning both.

 

well the other day i bought a new ignition coil and plugs. when i went to change out the plugs at least four of the damn things were loose! just by lack of information i had gotten autolite plugs when i first did a tune-up, so i replaced them with motorcraft. at least now the CEL isn't coming on sporatically, so i'm happy about that. i'll probably do some more investigation/cleaning once it warms up a bit.
