is this possible
i have a 91 f150 4x4 5.0 extended cab.
i have ordered a 2.5 in. lift for the truck.
a buddy of min sold me brand new 35in all terains
can i fit them on my truck with just a 2.5in lift.
dont plan on doing any off roading right know but after money builds again i plan on doing a 3 inch body lift.
o i was also thinking of putting f250 springs on the truck
i was told it will also give a lift not much but it will bring it up a little

I'll take this one folks...
In short: 2.5" of lift is good enough to clear 31s-33s (with no scrub, and if it does scrub, not by much).
In long: 35s would be so much better with a 6" lift, stay away from body lifts. Go all suspension, and do it correctly. My truck has a factory lift, with quad suspension up front - I have 31s on it at the moment (they look small at times), but when they wear out, I'm going to max out the free space in the fender wells. I would love to get some 35s, but I don't want to spend the money to do it correctly... so I won't 1/2ass it.
Hope this helps.

with that being said. what do u think about my idea of the f250 springs?
is that a bad idea?
i would like to convert the front end to a straight axle with leafs but i dont have alot of money laying around.
so would the f250 springs be a good or bad idea.
just a fyi i am a great welder i do it almost every week so i am extremly confident in my welding abilities.
where could i order leaf spring perches to do my straight axle leaf spring conversion.
yes that is 2 different questions

Body lifts are ok as long as you go with a good kit. I have a performance accessories kit that has bolt on parts. I've seen kits where you cut and weld extensions to shifters and steering linkage. In my opinion, that is very dangerous! As far as 2.5", pretty much 31's or 32's. To get 35's you will need at least 4-6" range. It also depends on rim and tire width you plan to use. I started out with 8" and 36x14.5x15's on 15x12 wheels and they rubbed the radius arms and the corner of the bumper. If you use 35x12.5 on a 15x10 (max) you'll be fine for clearance. When I first did my truck, I took the idea bigger is better for a lift. I bought the biggest f150 lift at the time which was a skyjacker 8". Some people start off smaller and become dissatisfied and go bigger and bigger till they hit the max. I did it in 1 shot and avoided the install/uninstall fee. As far as f250 springs, I do believe they are wider and would imagine would give a stiffer rise...
Solid axle conversion is something that I want to eventually do. It gives a better ride with large tires. I seen conversions done with a shackle setup instead of spring perches...

i have a stock 95 and a 92 f150, i fit 33x12 easy, they obviously rub on the radias arms but thatll happen, the 92 i had to move the bumper as far up as i could, and out about and inch ( because the 92 is a I6 they sit a little lower stock) and my 95 i have no bumper problems
i'd say they would fit. bc i'm looking at buying a set of new 35" Mud terrains from one of my friends. and when we brought one ofthe 35's out to get some guess-timates i came to the conclusion that i would only need to get a 2in leveling kit up front and get a 1"-2" block for the rear to keep my truck level.
oh yeah my truck has 31x10.50's on it now and they look tiny
BTW the company that manufatures performance accesories body lifts also make summit brand body lifts, only difference is the price and the summit brand comes in a plain white box. so there really isn't a "good" kit since they are the same(not trying to be rude or anything just trying to be informative)

the cheapest place to get a body lift that i've found is summitracing.com

as for the f-250 springs...i think you would get minimal lift if any and the ride would not be as comfortable. what i would suggest doing instead of using f250 springs is getting a leveling kit for the front and then getting whatever size blocks you'd need in the rear to make it level.
as of right now with my truck i'm planning on getting a set of 35's on it. i was going to start with the leveling kit and blocks. and then if that wasn't enought then i'd do the BL

Actually body lifts are all not the same. Yeah, the blocks and bolts are the same but there are kits out there that have you cut and weld extensions into your steering column where it meets your steering box. Performance accessories has a splined extension that slides into your current setup and bolts together...
