Default no start condition

I have a 92 F150 4.9 that starts when it wants to. when it doesn't start there is no spark from the coil. turn the key to the run position the fuel pump runs for a few seconds crank the motor over a few times release the key and the fuel pump doesnt run again unless you shut the key off and turn it back on. when the engine does start I disabled the ignition system and crank it over and when i release the key the fuel pump will run again for a few seconds without having to shut the key off. Any Clues?????

Have the ignition control module tested. The fuel pump doesn't need to run if the truck doesn't start as the fuel system is already pressurized.

I Think I found it there was a loose connection to both the fuel pump relay and the pcm/eec relay tightened up the connections where they plug in and so far so good
thanks for the info.

well so much for thinking i found the problem guess i only found part of the problem started the truck this morning it kept stalling until it got warm then it idled sounded like it was missing on one cylinder shut it down and let it cool down and it hasn't started since no spark but the fuel pump will run. problems getting worse may have killed starter today trying to get it running.
