Default wheel speed sensor?

hey i went out dirtbikin today and on the way home the truck started boggin down up hill and wasnt runnin right on flat ground either also. it was like it was in too high a gear also the speedometer was jumpin around and was way above how fast i was goin then the abs light came on all within 2 minutes couldnt figure out what was goin on (5.0 w/ e40d auto trans by the way) so finally i tried shiftin myself and i was able to do this through 1st and second gear. i was able to cruise in second gear and the speedometer said 50 which i know is bs as soon as i put it in drive it shifted itself up to 4th and again bogged down.

i am guessing i have a problem with my wheel speed sensor or the equivlent just looking for a second opinion

Check the speed sensor and wires that go to the rear axle. The sensors on the front axle if there are only for the ABS system and do not tie into the VSS system.
