Default Need help on shocks!!

I have a 96 f150 2wd. I am looking to get some new rear shocks. I don't tow or haul much but do a lot of driving. Not looking for very cheap or expensive shocks just something affordable and good on my daily driver

I had Monroe shocks before my lift. They were still good after 40k miles

I have a 95 scsb 2wd and use it very similar to you. I opted for air shocks, put about 15 psi in them and they ride great. Every blue moon I put a load on and run the shocks at 100 psi to prevent sag.

I bought and installed 4 Monroe shocks from my local auto parts store. They were cheap and easy to put on. Made my truck ride and handle so much better. You should change all 4 shocks while your at it

$25-35 bucks each and you will note a difference. If it's just 2WD and not hauling much, you will be fine. However, do change them. Also, look at your pivot and radius arm bushings. Changing them will also improve your ride.

Check my build thread Post#41, I'm running the setup below. The ride has improved and the install is extremely easy for the rears the fronts just require more work and patience.
KYB 344049 Excel-G Gas Shock on my Fronts
KYB 344077 Excel-G Gas Shock on my Rears

Just get yourself some Motorcraft shocks. The ride is great, they'll handle towing of you needed to and they're factory parts that are reasonably priced. Mine ride great.
