You're going to pay x amount for a shock. Add an extra 10 to 20 $$ to that and you get a whole lot more shock for you money. No point overspending, but an extra 20, 30 dollars at initial purchase can make a big difference.

I have a '96 2wd and bought 4 Monroes from Rockauto. I did it myself and I am an old guy(73). It made a world of difference in the ride and handling.

I don't even think they make Motorcrafts for the front anymore. Just the rear ones. I've looked on tasca.

Mine is a 94 but I can't imagine the 96 uses a different shock. I just replaced front and rear with Motorcraft shocks earlier this year.

Just checked RockAuto and they have them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if you aren't buying parts from rockauto you are limiting your choices and you are paying too much

they don't have them for the 4WD ones without the quad shocks though.

They are the same shock behind the axle. Will work on either.

Do you think Motorcraft shocks are better than the average/slightly above average aftermarket shock??
