ok heres my situation i have a 95 f150 4x4 the differential is making what sounds like rocks in the rear end bouncing around i took the diif cover off and the planatery gears are sloppy so i just picked up a 9 inch for 75 bucks i dont know what the 9 inch is to or for but it looks like it was from a 150 and needs to be fully rebuilt how do i figure out what it is to and what should i put in it to build for my truck any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

The 9" rear doesn't have a spot for the VSS so your speedometer and ABS isn't going to work, and if you have an automatic it won't shift correctly.

9" is the best rear made, it is more durable and easier to set up. It should fit right in providing its from an 80's truck, if not, measure center to center of spring perches, measure backing plate to backing plate, perches are the most important, overall can be off a half or 3\4 off. The only other thing is u-joints, the 9" had 2 widths, but they all should use a 1-1\16 cap. Oh yea good call Sean I forgot about the vss

not worried about the abs but the speedo yes i didnt know what that thing was on the differential now i do k thanks i will figure somethin out my trannys on the way out along with the motor

So, if your whole driveline is goin why you gonna go through this and swap a rear that wasn't meant for the truck? You wouldn't believe how much your ABS really does until you don't have it..

well i got a motor that i am goin to rebuild/build and if the tranny goes im goin to either build that or buy one thats built for mudding and every car ive owned besides this truck has had no abs aslong as you know how to drive which i do you dont need abs you have better control with out them i believe
