Default need help fast please.

Got off work, put my truck in reverse, drove 20 ft, heard a clunk and this thing fell off. I thing its like the a/c compressor or clutch or something like that. It looks like there was a bolt for it, but i can't find that bolt anywhere. Is it safe to drive my truck home 5 miles away?

That's the a/c compressor clutch. No it's not safe because the belt is off too.

*Update* all is well. The bolt fell out somewhere, bought a new one and some lock tight. It did the trick.

Oh, just the outer fell off? Yeah it would have been fine to drive. That part has an air gap that is set with shims. If you hear scraping it needs shimmed.

O.O thanks for letting me know that. Where can I get a shim? And is it bad to let that scrape?

I don't know where to get the shims. Mine was scraping, it eventually stopped. As long as it doesn't scrape enough to spin the clutch.
