I have a 87f-150 I6 and it started useing more gas about 4 days ago i have
Done a complete tune up motorcraft plugs, wires, accel cap and rotor
Button about a month ago. So today i pulled the codes and here it what i got

21 ect out of range
24 iat sensor out of range
11 system ok
51 ect sensor signal is to high

So would it be bad sensors or in the wiring ? And would it cause it to use more gas?

Was the truck warm enough? Yes the ECT will make it use more gas.

 

Yes it had be driven 45 min before i pulled the codes.

 

Those two sensors share a wire, I think it's the ground.

 

So you think its wiring?

Well i pull the harness for the fuel injectors and temp sensor and found oil soak connector at the back of the engine and the #3 plug end for injector it had got hot and
The red wire was almost out.

 

Not trying to hijack.... I think I will check mine for codes. I probably haven't interrogated the computer for over a year. Truck runs fine, its a gas pig but its on 35's and when I take it on a trip I run the **** out of it pushing 70.

Maybe some have popped up... Interesting
