Default Major failures

Tonight, my son gets home and tells me he has a bunch of warning lights in our 95 F150XLT. I go out and find the following:
Check Engine light ON
ABS light ON
Overdrive Off is Flashing
Speedometer is INOP
Mile Counter is INOP

I am at a total loss, what could have caused all of these issues at once?

Tried disconnecting the battery. Everything comes right back except the check engine light

Hell no, don't un-hook your battery. That'll erase the check engine light, which means you won't be able to read the codes. While the check engine light is on, go ahead and find out what the error codes are and post the results.

well if its something really bad he wouldnt be able to drive it to town to get the codes checked but if he resets it and it comes back he will know he has a real problem and if they stay off then hes fine

Besides there are no major failures on our trucks, just small repairable ones.

If you have that many lights come on all at once, then un-hooking the battery isn't going to fix it. There's a sticky at the top of the page on how to retrieve trouble codes on OBD-I vehicles.
