Default Maf ?

While scrounging at a new U pull junkyard yesterday I noticed a 92 to 96 that had a MAF sensor,I did not know a pre 97 had that and the harness was gone. I did not look at the year of the truck but what year did the MAF start showing up on the trucks.

My 95 was built in May and it does not have one, still the MAP sensor. I think they came out in the late 95's since everything had to be switched over for the 1996 year trucks

California Emissions '95's with mass air, can be found all over the US, but rare. Almost all '96's were mass air. I have a '95 in the back yard that is non mass air, a buddy has a '95 with, listed as Cali Emo. My '95 was a 5.8, his is a 5.0 with mass air, both were roller blocks.

'94-'95 5.0 automatics are MAF. All '96s are MAF. California got MAF in '95.

As stated, depending on where you live, AND engine, it is hit or miss. I have seen both. They are out there for sure! Just know that the truck intakes are much better than ANY of the fox/ mustang intakes.

Sean is a very good reference,

I have only been working on Ford's for 25+ years, mostly early stuff. I have been working on F series trucks (48 - '96), fox Mustangs, '65 - 73 mustang's, FE's, "B" series Ford's ..., Fairlane's, Galxies ... uni-body F100"s .. I am a Ford swap meet vendor

Having listed that, Sean is a VERY good reference!!

Yo Sean, I've also owned 4 Pontiac GTO's!
