Oh.. heads up, watch were you pop rivet. You could shoot one right through the brake or gas line on the drivers side or the wire leads going to the rear.. not that I would know from experience.... lol
thanks i figured they don't make them I guess i can hire someone to weld it in for 35 bucks and thanks for the heads up

yeah its good but with maine if there was no inspection people would be falling out of there cars everyday they use nothing but salt on the roads up here as long as there are no holes going through its ok mine i can stick my head through it so it needs to be fixed that is the only thing holding my truck back to get a sticker

the problem is time I can afford the metal but i will need to pay for it to get welded in but i do have an arc welder but i just never welded ever before so you see the issues
so practice a bit. look at it like this. it cant be seen and its not gonna hurt the value. im no pro by any means at all but if it were me i would cut all the rust out and weld new in (dont need to be pretty) grind it down paint it with bed liner and its fixed

Only problem is that an arc welder isn't very practical for sheet metal, even with a low amperage it might just blow through the metal and the arc would simply cut rather than weld.

From the pics you posted it sounded allot worse. If you just want it to pass cert and don't care about the safety aspect of it, cut away the old stuff and buy a floor panel replacement. Use some panel sealer caulking and rivets and spray some primer and stone guard over it, on the underside cake some fiberglass and stone guard it again.

For the rockers, cut away some of the rusted parts, use some spray in window foam then fiberglass it, sand it and stone guard it.

It may not be pretty but I've done jobs like this to pass the bare minimal specs for certification.

Well it sure beats what body shops would charge, probably for something like that id charge the same. They may not be insured but hope your truck is insured for fires if somethings screws up.

And for the love of god please unhook batteries when welding, I've seen too many ppl screw up and short their systems when welding near body or chassis grounds so it will protect your alternator, ecu and other systems.

Hell even your bearings can seize if current goes through them.
